dry skin

dry skin

i don't know about y'all, but in the winter (and honestly year round) i have SUCH dry skin. from january-march i am doing everything i can to help dry skin. i have no doubt my 2 baths a day don't help ANYTHING...but those aren't ever going ANYWHERE. my skin gets so dry that i end up getting these dry rough patches that are probably eczema. so i thought i would give you guys a blog about some great ways to combat dry skin. i realize that one of these isn't "natural" like i typically post. BUT i am also about moderation. most times my essential oils work for my headaches, but sometimes they don't. i'm not going to NOT take some ibuprofen if my head is splitting open. i'm very thankful for modern medicine.

3 methods for combatting dry skin:

1. Young Living Essential Oils: obviously this is my first go to. i have a small roller i made with patchouli, melrose, lemon, lavender, frankincense, and a carrier oil (coconut oil.) no joke, this clears dry patches on my (and the kids)skin in about 3 days of use. its unreal.

2. CBD Oil: if you're wondering what CBD oil is.. its hemp oil! it doesn't get you high. this is CBD we're talking about not THC (which DOES get you high.) my favorite company is cause + medic. their products are completely changing my skin. i use all of their products every day (except the tattoo balm, which i use as needed) and some i use twice a day. my brother is actually the person that got me very interested in CBD oil when he began researching alternative therapies for his brain cancer. cannabinoids have the ability to moderate glio cells and offer huge potential as antitumor drugs. check out this trial. we joke that nathan got brain cancer after he got out of college and had to quit acting like a college student ;)

3. Hydrafacials: so these are new to me but are added to my list now. i recently went to alexis at skin wellness center and was blown away. if you live in knoxville, GO THERE! its the cheapest in town and also the best! so let me explain the hydrafacial...its a treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and then hydrates your skin with antioxidants. it feels like a little vacuum on your skin. all my dry flakey skin on my face is GONE now and my skin glows like pregnant woman. you can read more about it here and check out these before/after photos. this was after my session, no skin makeup, no filter:

how do you combat dry skin? would love to hear!
